When the MiVoice Business system is in a cluster, the actual registering sequence of the IP device is unchanged provided the following guidelines have been observed:
The Cluster Element ID programmed in the Cluster Elements form must match the ICP/PBX Number programmed in the ICP/PBX Networking form.
In a clustered environment, each member of the cluster must be able to see the directory numbers programmed on the other controllers. You maintain the cluster telephone directories via RDN Synchronization.
The Set Registration Access Codes and Set Replacement Access Codes must be the same for each controller in the cluster.
Each IP Phone must be able to retrieve the IP address or FQDN of one of the controllers in the cluster (see program DHCP server instructions).
The 5560 IPT does not support redirects for PIN registration in a cluster environment. The ICP IP address advertised to the 5560 IPT telephone must be the same ICP hosting the 5560 IPT telephone.
To register IP telephones (except 5302 IP Phone, see below):
Connect the IP telephone to an RJ-45 Ethernet port on the LAN.
Provide power to the IP device (refer to the Hardware Technical Reference Manual for power option information.)
Press * during power-up (to clear any PIN number in memory).
If Registering and Auto-provisioning Multiline IP Telephones without a DN, type the Set Registration Access Code (without the DN) at the prompt on the IP device; otherwise, type the PIN number at the prompt on the IP device.

The 5505 SIP Phone base unit must be manually registered to the SIP Registrar (the MiVoice Business system) in the following cases:
